A FABULOUS NEW LIFE TO THE CREAMERY A NEW RESTAURANT VENTURE FOR NICK AND EMMA
Dating back some 700 years and built adjacent to the ruins of nearby Dunskey Castle. Portpartick was founded by fishing and is still a fishing harbour today. As with most of Scotland it's history for Portpatrick is long and interesting and well worth delving into. A vibrant village today with a lifeboat station, charmingly rustic pubs, hotels, guest houses and even a golf club and bowls club and a historic train staion. I would say an enviable life style in such a beautiful place south westerly coast of the Scottish mainland. And how famous was it when chosen to be featured in the 1954 Dirk Bogarde film Hunted with the talented child actor, Jon Whiteley.
How exciting, there is a you tube link to catch a glimpse of the old Bogardge film. Portpatrick also laughingly known as the Gretner Green for Irelands lovers to run away to get married at St Patrick's church, there must be Irish ties there :), and I mean how romantic just a bumpy boat ride over the Irish waters and they were hitched .
Bringing you back to present day and the refurbishment of the old Creamery to a luxury restaurant being lovingly restored with the greatest of thought by Nick and Emma, the photos are the before with the after photos to follow for the grand opening day.
Nick and Emma want very much to be working closely with local produce suppliers and have already done so with Portparticks brewery who are also supplying one of the local hotels, Rickwood House Hotel where Maggie and Fred are your hosts and can boost being the only visit Scotland 4* B&B. It is great to see that Nick and Emma have the full backing of all the locals in Portpatrick all the hotels and B&Bs will now be able to offer thier guests another choice to dining out in style checkout the Knockquhassen Farm B&B no longer a working farm but somewhere delightful stay in wonderful natural surrounds and who are dog freindly.
THE VERY BEST IN YOUR NEW VENTURE FROM http://scotlets.co & scotlets blogs I LOOK FORWARD TO AN UPDATE FOR YOUR OPENING DAY
